About ’40’ Cafe:

At ’40’ Café we are making, or trying to make, a difference in the lives of people locally and over seas!

We are doing that in a number of ways.

 LOCALLY

We are endeavouring to use local produce to help local farmers and local producers with their busness (if only in a small way).

We are producing great quality food for our local community and wonderful organic and fair trade coffee, produced in Byron Bay.

Highering local staff.

Wearing organic and ethically made uniforms, so the the money we spend is used wisely to benefit the production and the people making the product are getting paid for what they do!

Using Biodegradable packaging so that our waste goes back into the ground and doesn’t sit in land fills for our children to try to get rid of later!

 CHARITIES WE SUPPORT

Click here to find out about the charities we support.

OUR FOOD

We have many wonderful vegan, vegetarian main meals and desserts.

We also cater for gluten free diets, lactose intolerant and of course, we only use organic meat and free range eggs.

Make sure you try our wonderful coffee on your next visit – we use only the best quality – Bunn Coffe from Byron Bay.

FUNKY PIES
and a flippin fantastic day to you too!
righto, here it is, Funky pies aims to address the way fast food impacts on the enviroment, you , the gereration after you and so on and so on.

were not interested in ripping off the planet to make a buck, and when you support us, you too will be supporting that philosophy.

heart Bass & Vocals at Cooma School of Music” width=”206″ height=”327″ />

All the way from the Mornington Peninsula in Victoria, singer-songwriter Matt Charlesworth has moved to Cooma.

Matt began playing guitar at 14 years of age. The sudden interest in playing guitar became a great passion for all things musical. This led Matt to pursue music to the tertiary level. In 2008 Matt completed his music degree at Box Hill Institute.

In 2009 Matt went on to record his debut album, “For the Journey”, released on iTunes in 2010 (Also available at Cooma School of Music and Monaro Books). In the same year Matt took up the position of Music Coordinator at Somerville Secondary College. He initiated a music program that grew to 50 students within one year.

At the beginning of 2010 Matt and his wife Sarah packed up everything to go out on the road. They spent 9 months on the road travelling around Victoria and NSW, Matt sharing his music at every opportunity.

In October they moved to Cooma so Matt could take up the position of Chaplain at Monaro High School and Cooma Public School. Matt has also initiated a music program at Numerella Public School. Now settled into Cooma Matt is looking forward to the opportunity to become involved with the music scene in the Cooma area.

Matt has been teaching music almost as long as he has been playing. His lessons are undertaken with the same degree of passion as his on stage performing.
