  1. Planning for the 2011 SheppARTon Festival:Voices Connect is well underway and there are plenty of opportunities for you and your group to become involved.

With the theme Voices Connect, next year’s festival hopes to harness the vocal power of groups from across the state to converge on Shepparton and let the Goulburn Valley hear what they have to offer. Our aim is to schedule a number of acapella groups to perform around the Shepparton area during the festival at different times and venues.

In addition, choirs attending and performing in the festival will have the opportunity to be a part of a ‘super’ choir that will perform the selected festival song at the Twilight Festival event in front an audience of approximately 4000 people. Led by the festival choirmaster, the performance will include the participation of all choirs involved from both regional and metropolitan areas. If agreeable to involvement in the larger choir, vocal parts will be sent prior to the festival for your group to learn and two workshop rehearsals will be conducted prior to the night time performance.

Choirs will also be offered the chance to participate in workshops on the Sunday of the festival with the Melbourne Gospel Choir.

Interested choirs should note: When becoming involved in the SheppARTon Festival performances and participation will span Friday 11 to Sunday 13 March, 2011.

The Shepparton Arts Festival Inc board is also willing to assist with information regarding accommodation and reputable eateries and once your participation is confirmed an information package for participating choirs will be sent to you to ensure your festival experience a memorable, easy to navigate experience.

If your group would like to become a part of the 2011 SheppARTon Festival please contact liz.zito@sheppatron.vic.gov.au to receive an expression of interest form.
Applications for participation will close on 24 November, 2010.
