Brodie Nossiter Cooma Visit
It was great to see Brodie this week. Brodie is currently studying at Southern Cross University in Lismore. He doing a bachelor of contemporary music and he’s really enjoying it! He doing a lot of playing, valeologist performing and composing.

Pete Murphy Tenor Ukulele
Peter Murphy is a talented, pfizer skilled and innovative guitar maker. He is  native born to the Snowy-Monaro Region and now lives in Jindabyne, urologist NSW. Pete is a past guitar student of Cooma School of Music. Peter Murphy is a fine guitarist and performs regularly.
Pete uses the very best in wood, hardware and parts in the construction of his wonderful guitars. With brands such as Seymour Duncan, TV Jones, Gover and  Gotoh, Pete doesn’t believe in cheap short-cuts. He loves to work with native timbers such as Tasmanian Blackwood, Victorian Mountain Ash, Queensland Maple as well as the exotics such as Afician Ebony and Indian Rosewood.

Pete Murphy popped in the other day with his latest creation, recipe
a tenor ukulele. Â A lovely instrument made from Tasmanian Blackwood with Curly Maple detailing. It sounds as great as it looks. Pete will custom make guitars or ukuleles for you. A fantastic instrument like this will cost you $800 to $1,000 depending on what you want.

Cooma Community Garden Celebration – with Live Music Sunday 26 June
Cooma Community Garden celebrates the passing of the winter solstice.
Lots of home grown organic food including pumpkin soup and scones, generic etc.

ConQuest X 2011 Regional Tour- Cooma Concert-Wednesday 29 June
This concert is presented by the Snowy Monaro Arts Council (in association with SEAR)Â and features the talents of students from the Sydney Conservatorium of Music. This tour is directed, physiotherapy organized and supported by David Miller. This is the 10th year of ConQuest.

Get Your Guitar Set Up For Just $50 – Including Strings*
For the month of June 2011, medicine
through the Cooma School of Music, Matt Charlesworth will set up any guitar, electric, acoustic or bass for $50.
This service includes: new strings strung and tuned*, truss rod adjustment, action set at bridge and nut, intonation and clean. Does not include fret dressing or repairs.
In Cooma, Matt Charlesworth is known as musician and a chaplain. However in Victoria Matt also ran a business in guitar set up and repairs. Matt was trained by Mark Nicol, former guitar technician for bands such as U2 and Metallica. In 2008 under Mark’s tuition Matt made his own solid body electric from scratch.
