About Michael:

Over the last 20 years Michael has played in many bands, from

solo performances as a cover artist to being a member of wind orchestra’s such as the Canberra Youth Music Wind Ensemble and jazz ensembles from trio’s playing at weddings to big bands, such as the Blamey St Big Band (Canberra) and Connexion Big Band (Canberra). Other bands include a P!nk Tribute show which has played interstate and around Melbourne, and lead guitarist for Levi Mcgrath (Melbourne, AUS) and Bryce Wastney (NZ)

Wizards & Witches Poste cuteThe Valentine’s Train last Saturday was a great success. There were almost 80 happy people. They enjoyed a  wonderful three-course meal, buy information pills a fun ride on the Cooma Monaro Railway heritage train and of course, salve romantic classical guitar music provided by myself and Leslie.

Cooma Monaro Railway has other great outing planned, “Witches & Wizards Train“. This will be tremendous fun for children and the young at heart. There will be dress up competitions, games, music and lots of yummy food. All under the watchful eye of the Head Witch, Liz Dee.

Cameron Cusack’s Qld Flood Relief Concert – Saturday 2 March 2013 at 2pm

This concert will raise money for the Queensland Flood Relief Appeal.

Appearing with Cameron will be:

It’s a family event so there will be activities for the kids such as face painting.

About Ernie:

The Man
Born 12 May, 1950.  Lives in the Snowy Mountains area near Cooma, NSW.  Spent twenty five years as a shearer.  Operates a family grazing property with Merino sheep and beef cattle in conjunction with his music career. 

The Songwriter
Has had approximately 30 songs recorded by major artists including sixteen by Slim Dusty.  Hits for Slim were “Things I See Around Me”, “Three Hundred Horses” and “When the Currawongs Come Down”.  Other songs have been recorded by Glenn Jones, Reg Poole, Gordon Parsons, Terry Gordon, Dean Perrett and Tom Maxwell.

The Entertainer 
Regular Festival and Club appearances throughout NSW.  Available for bookings as a solo, duo or with the Currawong Country Band.  Also available as a Compere/Guest Artist.  Phone 02 6454 3152.

The Recording Artist
Recorded Debut Album at Lindsay Butler Studios in 1993 entitled “When the Currawongs Come Down”.  Second album “Boots N All” released on L.B.S. in June 1996.  The third album “Colours of a Song” launched in December, 1998.  Fourth album “Dinkum Bushmans Hands” May 2003.  Releasing fifth album in June 2006.  All songs on all albums are Ernie Constance original material.  Full L.B.S.  production and backing.

Pierre Herrero has been importing quality Spanish Classical & Flamenco guitars into Australia for many years. Pierre has also been an ardent supporter of the classical guitar in Australia. Among many other activities, he has sponsored the Sydney Classical Society Summer School and the Melbourne based Alhambra Sadie Awards.

finalist in the Australian Youth Classical Music Competition in 2012 will give a recital in Cooma on Sunday 3 March.

Nicholas, who comes from Sydney, began studying piano at the age of six. His extraordinary skills as a musician have earned him several scholarships and gained him recognition in many competitions. In 2012 he also took second place in the Australian National Piano Award, and prior to that he won his section in the ABC Symphony Australia Young Performers Awards. As a teenager he was the national winner of the Yamaha Australian Youth Piano Competition in 2007.

An accomplished performer, Nicholas has played with Symphony Orchestras all around Australia and has given solo recitals in Australia and New Zealand. His 3 March recital in Cooma is at 2:30pm in the Anglican Parish Hall on Commissioner Street, on the Snowy Monaro Arts Council’s own grand piano.

Tickets for the recital are available at The Fabric Salon and at the door before the concert.

Local music teacher/band leader Phil Horneman is presenting a chamber music concert to celebrate the 150th Anniversary of the Anglican Diesis of Canberra and Goulbourn at St Pauls on Sunday March 24 at 3pm. The guest artists include Thea Seferovic on clarinet and Jack Hobbs on cello, both recently graduated from the ANU School of Music in Canberra. The program will feature Beethoven Op. 11 Piano Trio for Piano, Clarinet and Cello. Also popular duos including Schumann Fantasie Pieces No. 2 for Clarinet and Piano, Faure Sicilienne for Cello and Piano, Mendelssohn Song Without Words Op. 109 for Cello and Piano, and Beethoven Romance in F Op. 50 for Viola and Piano with guest artist Julia Clancy. This concert program will also be performed in Young at the Young Regional School of Music as part of their Morning Melodies series in April 2013. troy cassar-daley_home cdTroy Cassar-Daley will be performing at the Cooma Ex-Services Club. Troy has just received another 4 Golden Guitar at this year’s Tamworth Country Music Festival which brings his total to 25!

Troy Cassar-Daley will be performing with his band and local country artist, purchase Cameron Cusack. This concert will assist the Rural Fire Service and those affected by the recent bushfires.

Cooma School of Music will be donating a Takamine guitar which will be signed by Troy to the RFS raffle on the night.
