Brodie was knocked off his bike by a car 3 weeks ago during the school holidays. He was badly hurt. He had a broken leg and ankle, website like this broken right wrist and knuckle, broken left hand thumb and lots of bruising. Luckily he was wearing a helmet; it was totally destroyed, but it protected his head.
Brodie just couldn’t wait to get back to guitar lessons. After he got the cast taken off his right wrist yesterday he wanted a guitar lesson so his mum wheeled him into the school today. Brodie couldn’t quite manage a full size guitar so we found a 1/4 size one he could play. Brodie is healing very quickly and he’s determined to get back to his standard of playing that he had before the accident. He even wants to play in the Cooma Music Competition on the 27th September. And don’t be surprised if you see him busking in Cooma soon!
Please leave a comment to encourage Brodie back to good health.
Café Music was a great success last Sunday afternoon (28th June). Over 30  students of Cooma School of Music entertained a large and appreciative audience. The “Café Music” concept was a bit of an experiment, hemorrhoids or variation on the theme of “student concert”. We decided to “play” this in the “key of relaxed”. The audience was seated at tables around the hall. They could listen to the music, treatment read the Sunday papers, psychotherapist play a game of chess, cards, snakes and ladders, have a conversation, enjoy a leisurely afternoon tea with bottomless cups of tea or coffee. The music students could perform in this more relaxed atmosphere. The  feedback we’ve received so far has been very positive.  So Leslie and I, Judith and Adrian are delighted with the results. We would, however, welcome any suggestions as to how we may be able to improve on this concept. Thanks to all the wonderful cooks who produced so much lovely food (I’m back on my diet this week!). Thanks to the helpers who cleaned up the hall afterwards. Thanks to the lovely and supportive audience. And of course, thanks to the wonderful music students for giving up their Sunday afternoon and performing so well!
Brodie, cure Chris and friends had a heap of fun busking outside of Coles on Friday night. Cold? No way! They’ve got their music to keep them warm!
Lucas has just got a new 1C Alhambra classical guitar. He’s traded in his 3/4 size guitar and now has his very own full size solid top Spanish made guitar. This lovely guitar has a solid red cedar top, with mahogany back and sides. The neck is mahogany with Indian rosewood fingerboard. He can now enjoy a guitar with much great volume and clarity, troche and a much larger range of tonal possibilities. Way to go, this web Lucas!
Darcy had a nasty cut to the tip of his right index finger. But a little cut wasn’t going to stop Darcy from coming to his lesson and playing his guitar. So with a little help from Mum he taped a guitar pick to his index finger so he could still play his classical guitar pieces. How’s that for determination and ingenuity?
