In 2007 four young men from very different backgrounds met while studying music in Brisbane. They formed a band called The Deckchairs and in 2008 released their first EP SOME STRANGERS SHIP.

With reviews such as “exhilarating, uplifting and addictive” (TheDwarf,com) The Deckchairs were off and running.

2010 has seen the release of their second album UR, a Canadian festival tour, and a Contemporary Music Touring Grant from the Australian Government for a 23 gig tour from Jindabyne to Cairns.

As part of this grant The Deckchairs are running a two hour workshop for local youth aspiring to a future in the music industry. The workshop will be held at Jindabyne Memorial Hall on the afternoon of Wednesday 29^th September.

The Deckchairs are playing a gig at the hall later that evening and are offering one or two local youth bands the opportunity of playing support to an established band.
